Subordi-Mate
the way he squeezed Daniel’s hips, Daniel had a good idea what he wanted, too.“Not until Bella’s asleep,” he said teasingly, grinning when Heath kissed soundly him on the lips.
“Of course not.” Heath tickled Bella under the chin. She babbled at them, reaching for Heath’s fingers.
For a moment, Daniel watched them both: Heath grinning at their daughter, the gold band on his finger gleaming under the warm kitchen lights. Bella with her mahogany eyes and blond hair, her little fingers closing around Heath’s thumb.
They’d gotten married a month after Bella was born, at a gazebo in the park. Heath had invited the Alpha Foods employees to attend, and the omegas at the marketing department had been especially excited about the ceremony.
Heath’s parents had accepted Daniel with open arms. He hadn’t expected them to, but it had calmed his worries when they’d joked with him, taking turns to hold Bella in their arms.
When he’d fallen in love with Heath, Daniel hadn’t had any idea that he’d be accepted into Heath’s blood- and work-family, too. It felt like he’d finally found a home, somewhere he truly belonged.
“You’re thinking about something really good,” Heath said, nudging Daniel lightly in the side.
“I’m thinking how fortunate I am to have found you,” Daniel answered.
“Can’t be luckier than me. I’ve got you and Bella.” Heath met Daniel’s eyes, and Daniel’s heart swelled for his family.
It felt as though he was falling deeper in love every day, with Heath by his side, helping to raise Bella. How many people had the luxury of an alpha who would stay by him no matter what?
Heath kissed Daniel’s neck, right on his scent gland. “Tag! You’re It. Now you’re gonna have to kiss me back.”
Daniel laughed, turning the burners off, before stalking after his husband. “Am I supposed to kiss you somewhere in particular?”
Heath looked surprised, then thoughtful. “Maybe. Preferably somewhere further down.”
He wriggled his eyebrows.
“I think we’ll have to continue this later.” Daniel laughed, turning to plate their dinners. “But when we do... I’ll spare you no mercy.”
Heath laughed. “I’d like to see you try.”
“I’ll try really hard,” Daniel shot back.
Heath grinned, hugging him from behind, with Bella drooling onto Daniel’s shoulder.
Things were good, with the three of them. And Daniel couldn’t be happier.
