in front of her, my blueberry never hid her gaze. She watched as each inch of his body was revealed. Nostrils flared. Heart raced. And the scent of her arousal perfumed the air. “Soon blueberry. Once we’re safe.”She nodded and bit the side of her lower lip. I groaned as I reached down with my free hand to adjust myself. Running with a hard cock was not high on my list of things to do, but it looked like I would be.
The moment, Kasim stood before us naked, he brushed his lips over the tip of her nose, and then shifted. A soft oh left her mouth. “You’re beautiful, Kasim.” With a steady hand, she reached out to rub in between his ears. A deep purr rumbled from his chest. He brushed against her legs and then ran out the door to scout ahead as Bae and I guarded her.
“Will he be okay?”
“Of course. He’s just making sure the coast is clear. Even though the sun has just risen, as a panther, he can hide. Arin and I don’t hide effectively as bears.” Bae shrugged as the corners of her mouth lifted, replacing most of her worry with a smile.
Her hands lifted to the tie on her dressing gown. With deft fingers, she unknotted it, before rolling her shoulders, allowing it to drop to the floor.
I swallowed my tongue. No matter how many times I saw her do the same thing when she wasn’t on stage, it always hit me like a punch to the gut.
“W-what are you doing? Bae asked the question that refused to leave my lips.
“Well, if Kasim can be his panther then it’s probably safer for me to be a cat.”
Her idea had merit. With her transformed, no one would even know she’d escaped until much later. “Good thinking.” I winked. And as I watched, memorizing each curve of her body, she shrunk, transforming into her Russian blue cat.
Bae bent to pick up her dressing gown and stage heels as she pranced around my ankles, purring. It wasn’t my first time seeing her as her cat since she spent a few afternoons curled up in my lap that way, but those few times hadn’t been enough. Her silvery blue fur shimmered in the light of dawn, giving a gold cast to it. Almost like a halo. As much as it was better to make our escape with her in her cat form, we’d need to hide her. The glow from her fur would draw too much attention.
A dark shadow appeared in the door. She hid behind my legs when Kasim entered. His panther head swiveled, nostrils flaring as he searched for Tabitha. A low growl rumbled in his chest.
Bae smacked the side of Kasim head. “Knock it off. She’s right here.”
Tabitha pounced, landing on Kasim’s front leg, wrapping her legs around it like a chimpanzee. He snorted, sat back on his haunch, and stroked her with his other paw. Twin purrs, one deep sounding, reverberating in the pit of my stomach, and one softer at a higher pitch that I felt in my heart, filled the air. Bae and I smiled. Seeing Kasim so content, so happy, made us all happier. Even though he was a part of our team, he still held himself aloof from Bae and I. But now, with Tabitha, he joined in, making us one cohesive team of four.
“Okay, you two. Time’s wasting and we need to get out of here while we still have cover.”
Once Bae issued a command, we jumped to put it in motion. I bent over and scooped her off of Kasim’s leg. “I need you to crawl into my shirt, blueberry.” Without any hesitation, she did, climbing her way into the front of my shirt through the neck hole. I bit my lips to keep from laughing as she clambered around, getting into a comfortable position. The moment she stopped, Kasim gave us a quick nod before stalking out the door. Bae and I followed in his steps as we made our escape.
The fighting outside had died down some but wasn’t over, making our trip a little treacherous. And with dawn having fully broken, trying to stay hidden became difficult. When the sounds of a helicopter taking off ripped through the air, the fighting halted as all the people stopped and stared at it. It became perfect cover for our getaway, and we took full advantage of it.
An hour later, we sat on the couch in our hotel suite. Bae, Kasim, and I sat on the couch as we took turns holding Tabitha on our laps.
“Did you guys find out who Mr. X is?”
“Mr. X?” Bae asked.
“That’s what he told her his name was. And, no, we don’t know. In the file, he was just called BJ.”
“Then how did you find me?”
Bae smiled as he pulled her from my lap and back onto his. She snuggled against his chest, sitting sideways. I lifted her legs, stretching them over my lap and onto Kasim’s. He unbuckled her heels, peeling them off her feet and giving them a little caress. She moaned, bringing a smile to his face.
“Well, Kasim tracked you, and that’s how we discovered that Mike is a mutant. We don’t know what this Mr. X is, but he’s definitely some type of shifter,” Bae told her. She used the foot that Kasim wasn’t massaging to rub his thigh. “Once we knew that, Kasim continued to track you while Arin and I used one of your DICCs to copy the information on Mike’s tablet.”
“But it was Bae who found and unlocked the hidden folder that contained the email from your Mr. X telling Mike to bring you to him. And another file contained the address. When we contacted Kasim, he was almost at the compound, having tracked you there.”
“You figured out how to work the DICC.” She grinned at me.
“I did. I may or may not have been looking over your shoulder whenever you worked on them.
