Introduction
Back in 2018 I created and wrote a web series called Single & Ready. The series was later made into a movie and is currently available at Amazon Prime video. The movie was released in 2019. After a few readers asked me to turn the movie into a book I decided to do just that. I only wrote and created Single & Ready. I didn’t produce it, direct it or cast the actors that appeared in it. The producers of Single & Ready decided to produce Urban films. But I still had a treatment for a part 2 of Single & Ready. I’m sure a lot of folks want to know what happened after the film ended. So I decided to write the book so you can see what the original material looked like and what happened after the was never filmed. There were a lot of things cut out of the movie that were in the original screenplay. Another reason I adapted the screenplay into a book and this is the conclusion to Single & Ready. Please Enjoy!
*Explicit Adult Content*
This book is considered Romantic Fiction with erotic and elements. This is for mature audiences only. This book contains profane language, mild violence, extreme sexual situations, and adult themes.
Upside Down
LATANYA
Since I had never been in a situation like this in my long albeit boring life, I didn’t know what to do. Brandon was standing next to me, bucket ass naked. My ex, Nick, was standing in front of me looking like a wounded puppy dog. I wanted to Usain Bolt, but where to. With my luck, I would be the only Black girl in history to trip and fall during a sprint.
I cocked my head to the right and could see a huge smirk on Tami’s face. She wasn’t funny with her Alexa play Ex’s and Oh’s line. We don’t even have Alexa. If Alexa couldn’t teleport me to another country she wasn’t good for anything, anyway.
I would never be able to live this fiasco down. This was happening to me. I still couldn’t believe it. Why me? I didn’t even deserve this level of foolishness in my life. But I was here, and I was the common denominator. I had to do something about it. Running wasn’t an option, even though it entered my mind again. I opted for talking. My voice box was intact. With a little enunciation I should be good to go.
“Nick, why are you here?” I asked what might be an obvious question because someone had to say something. That someone apparently had to be me.
“I’m here to see you.”
My eyebrow arched. I felt it go up. He needed to do better than that. He didn’t know Brandon and Tami couldn’t stand him. Did he get dumb after he dumped me? I was the only logical person he was here to see.
“I’m busy.”
“I just need a few minutes. You blocked my number. You blocked me everywhere. I can’t call you.”
That was true. I blocked him on all my social media accounts too. I did a quick mental checklist, Facebook, Twitter, IG, Snapchat, Tik Tok, Discord, MeWe and Likr.
I couldn’t think of anything else to say, so I decided to just slowly repeat myself.
“I am busy.”
This was too damn awkward. Nick’s face looked so pitiful, but I wasn’t in the mood to address that. Plus, it would be rude towards Brandon. I was being pulled in two different directions and I didn’t like the feeling.
I glanced over at Tami. I hoped she would save me. I tried to talk to her psychically, but I wasn’t psychic. I was a woman way out of my depth. I was done with this situation. I knew I wasn’t equipped to handle it. I was quick-witted.
Then I had a thought. Should I push Nick out of the apartment doorway? It was an option. I could slam the door in his face, but that wasn’t really my style. That was more Tami’s style. I wished there was something she could do to save me. But she was leaving it all up to me.
It was time for me to tap out. I took the arm of my nude
